It's All Eve's Fault!!!!!!!!

Have you ever thought about how monumentally stupid Eve was?

Seriously, we wouldn’t even be in any of this mess of sin and damnation if Eve could’ve just resisted the temptation of the slithering serpent. But nooooooooo she just had to take a big fat bite of the juicy red apple (or whatever kind of fruit it was). Then she has the audacity to go and find Adam, poor innocent Adam, (who was probably walking with God in the cool of the evening) and force this corruption on him.

We all know how dumb men are. Women can make us do anything. She could’ve given him a rock and he would’ve eaten it and probably asked for more. So, we can conclude that the whole reason we are in all of this sin mess is because of one woman, Eve.

Genesis very clearly lays it all out for us in chapter 3 verse 6, it says, “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.”

Whoa, stop the bus, hang on a minute. WOW. Did you just read what I read? I’ve got to read that again, “She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.”

I'm feeling a bit like Gill Grissom here. You mean to tell me that Adam was with her the entire time and just didn’t say anything? He just decided to stay silent in spite of the fact that he knew what was happening? He chose not to say a word in the face of obvious wrong and life threatening sin?

Ummmm, wow this is awkward, but uhhhhhh, sorry Eve.

Maybe it’s time for men to stop being silent and not let sin go unchecked in our lives. Maybe we should stop blaming everyone else for our own failures, faults, and sins. Maybe we should let God in on our choices and decisions and yield our futures to him.

Maybe, just maybe, there’s no such thing as the strong silent type.
You’re either strong or you’re silent.
